Lotus flowers have a special meaning to me. In both Buddhist and Taoist tradition, they symbolize spiritual purity and morality. Applying this to my life, I’ve taken it as a symbol of what I strive for. As I grow, I want to be like the lotus and not let the darkness and negativity surrounding me taint me. I am filled with insecurities that I’m always battling with - they occasionally get the better of me, and I lose all confidence, but then I push them back and go on with my life.

I need to believe that deep down I have a goodness that’s like the purity of the lotus flower. And that if I keep growing, one day I will be able to bloom as brilliantly as the lotus flower.
